Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Weekend Package

Location: GlenOaks Senior Living Campus, New London, MN

Part-Time (Weekend Package, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday)

Overview: GlenOaks Senior Living Campus, located in New London, MN, is a senior living community offering a broad range of services, including Independent Living, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Rehabilitation, and Memory Care. We are committed to providing compassionate, competent care to our residents, and we are currently looking for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team as part of our Weekend Package (Saturday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM). This is a part-time position with a focus on delivering high-quality care to our residents during weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at GlenOaks, your responsibilities include:

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide personal care assistance, including helping residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Mobility Assistance: Assist residents with transfers, positioning, and ambulation to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Feeding and Nutrition: Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring that residents receive proper nourishment and fluids as required by their care plan.
  • Resident Monitoring: Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being, report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff, and document observations.
  • Vital Signs: Measure and record residents’ vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Documenting Care: Accurately document all personal care activities, changes in residents' condition, and other relevant data in the resident’s medical record.
  • Safety and Infection Control: Ensure that the environment is clean and safe for residents. Follow all infection control protocols to maintain the health and safety of residents and staff.
  • Assist with Rehabilitation: Help residents with mobility exercises or physical therapy activities as outlined by the nursing staff.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff members to provide the best care experience.
  • Provide Comfort and Compassion: Offer emotional support, companionship, and comfort to residents, ensuring a positive and caring environment.

 Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): Must be currently certified and registered in the state of Minnesota as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification: Must have a current CPR and First Aid certification or be able to obtain it within a designated time frame after hire.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, move, and assist residents (up to 50 lbs) with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods during shifts.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to handle exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to perform personal care tasks that require physical dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in an environment where exposure to noise, medical equipment, and potentially hazardous materials is present.
  • Must have the stamina and physical endurance to work long shifts while remaining attentive to resident needs.
